61st Annual NCCA Conference on Addictions
Included Mass of Healing, Awards Ceremony

On July 11-13, 2011, more than 140 people attended the National Catholic Council on Addictions (NCCA) joined with Guest House to offer a comprehensive workshop in the Archdiocese of Boston on “Addictions Ministry and Compassion Fatigue: Caring for the Mind, Body and Soul.”

The conference was held at the Boston Marriott Newton Hotel.  Noted faculty included:
Carlo Clemente, Ph.D., ABPP
Rev. Richard Lewandowski, LMHC, priest of the Diocese of Worcester, MA (retired), counselor and author of children’s books
Rev. Mark Hushen, OSFS, president and CEO, Father Martin’s Ashley
Sr. Mary Persico, IHM, executive vice president of mission integration at Catholic Health East
Rev. John Stabeno, priest of the Diocese of Camden, founder of The Prodigal House Foundation
is Wenger, president and CEO, National Association for Children of Alcoholics

A Mass of Healing, held at Corpus Christi Church in Auburndale, was open to the public.  Continuing education credits (7 hours) were available for Conference attendees through NAADAC, the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors.

These workshops are accredited for Continuing Education Credits (CEU’s) by the National Association For Addiction Professionals
Note - The NCCA can also arrange to have concurrent workshop sessions presented in Spanish by Catholic experts.

 

 

NOTE: ON NCCA DRUG AND ALCOHOL ADDICTIONS WORKSHOPS. For each of the past 6 years, the NCCA has organized and presented a special DRUG AND ADDICTIONS WORKSHOP that has prceded each of the NCCA's Annual Conferences. Thus, these workshops have been held in Pheonix, Winter Park - Florida, Savannah, San Diego, New Orleans and Houston. The evaluation feedback from attendees has been most positve; In San Diego and in Houston, a Spanish track of the workshop sessions was also provided.
