Fr. Ralph Pfau
(1904 - 1967)
was the founder of the NCCA. Through his dedication and commitment, many Catholic priests, religious and laypersons found recovery and were restored to the faith family, leading productive and hopeful lives.

Ralph Pfau was the first Catholic priest to recover from Alcoholism through AA.

"You are invited to become an NCCA member. Membership is open to anyone interested in helping to promote understanding of the disease of alcoholism in the Catholic Church, and for all individuals, families and communities who are working to overcome the disease of addictions. The NCCA is open to persons of all faiths and beliefs.

As an NCCA member, we welcome your help in sharing with others the "spirituality support" and other educational resources of the NCCA.

You will receive an acknowledgement of your membership registration and an invoice for your dues in the mail. NOTE - The NCCA can accept payment by VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.

NCCA members receive all NCCA materials, including the Blue Book (Annual Conference presentations), the NCCA TODAY Newsletter series. Your dues help support all of NCCA's educational outreach activities, including distribution/printing of the prayer book: Prayers For Addicted Persons and Their Loved Ones, Serenity Prayer bookmarks, the Special pamlets: Spirituality and Recovery From Addictions, When they Won't (or Can't) Quit Alcohol or Drugs, the NCCA Today Newletter series and also the special NCCA Calendar with special prayers that is especially being sent out to the nation's jail and prison ministries for those inmates who are struggling with an addiction and very much need the strength of Spirituality/their Higher Power for their path to recovery. Your dues also supports the NCCA's work in sponsoring the Drug and Alcohol Addiction Workshops and the Annual Conference. Your dues also help the the NCCA to assist dioceses and local parishes in establishing local parish substance addiction ministries.
